I have a fiberglass pool so cleaners designed for vinyl bottoms really work better for me than those for "cement ponds." And the price was right.
However this item is in the "Toys" category and that is TERRIBLE. This pool cleaner works off of the vacuum created by your pool pump/filter. The cleaner is made more efficient by the use of two venturi intakes (the smallest one is removable). With only about a half-square-inch intake the suction on the bottom of this cleaner is ferocious. And instead of Wanda the Whale they should have dubbed it Sarah the Shark.
DO NOT let children into the pool when this device is operating - or simple-minded adults for that matter. Get a toe stuck in the intake when Wanda runs over your foot and you might find yourself pulling it out of the filter before heading to the ER to see if they can re-attach it. And God help the curious adolescent boy who has the pool to himself....
Hayward is quite clear about the dangers of this product and the narrow operating environment but making the thing cute and cuddly and allowing it to be categorized as a toy seems to be a massive product liability exposure.
Warnings aside this is a great auto pool cleaner at a really great price. You may need to cut out the venturi intake to match up better with your pump pressure and to allow it to clean your pool in a more systematic way but you'll be impressed with what the little thing can accomplish in a half-day or so.
Highly-recommended pool-cleaning TOOL! Highly-discouraged as a "toy" using any criteria.

These feet can be ordered from Hayward but are available at any decent pool supply store that sells Hayward products. If you have this device - or plan to buy it - and will use it in a fiberglass or cement pool be sure to replace the four "feet" to get the best performance of this unit.
With the proper cork feet this wonderful little cleaner does a fabulous job keeping my fiberglass pool sparkling clean (it even cleans the side up to three feet from the bottom) - at a price that is dramatically less than typical automatic pool cleaners.

Excellent product and excellent priceCan't beat the price for this weighted vacuum head. It stays to the bottom of the pool and it is not that difficult to move around. I now get all the stuff off the bottom of the pool. I used to have a vacuum head with brushes and the brushes raised the head high enough that it did not suck up all the debris. FYI - I have an above ground pool.

Great Pool VacuumThe Hydro tool 8165 pool vacuum is a great product. High quality construction makes me satisfied that it will last a long time. I espicially like the side brushs. When you roll the vacuum across the pool surface the side brushs kick up the dust/dirt in the hard to reach areas. Heavy weighted keeps it on the ground. Installing the spring accordingly makes for a stable mount on your pool pole. After using this product for three weeks it makes me realize how keeping a pool clean can be easy.

Unreliable quality
I bought the Pool Buster Max now called the Pool Blaster Max. It comes with a one year warranty which is really great if you live down south. But the season is not much more than 3 months in New York. I used it for one summer and it was terrific. The next June it didn't work. So I had 3 months for about $225.00. The warranty ran out before the time I wanted to use it the second summer. I returned it to Water Tech and was told it needed a new motor at $150 and some other part that I tuned out after hearing the $150. I told the person that the cost was not reasonable. Then she offered me a completely new unit for $155 plus shipping (about $11.00). That was under some kind of replacement plan sort of a good will gesture because it came with a new one year warranty. I asked her rhetorically why I would want to invest another $166.00 in addition to the $11.00 that I spent to return the defective item for a product that had absolutely no reliability or durability.
I would not advise anyone to buy this product unless they were prepared to buy a replacement every year. There are better and more reliable methods to clean up a swimming pool. I just use my 10 year old very reliable Polaris. It never has failed me. And it requires virtually nothing more than emptying the bag of debris. I have the Polaris model that has its own water pump. That pump has never failed. I replaced the styrofoam float once and the scrubby on the tail once. Total costs of replacement parts in 10 years for my Polaris - $10.00 or so.

The only part of my pool it doesn't clean are the steps. I NEVER have to sweep my pool with a brush just the steps because the Kreepy reaches everything else. If you have a clean filter the suction is very powerful and it sucks up leaves debris even microscopic stuff you can't see because it also vacuums and filters the water. The only time it has no suction is when the pool filters are dirty. Over the years I have had to replace the parts and hoses piecemeal but now the whole thing is tired and I'm ordering a new one. 13 years of NOT cleaning my pool by hand is proof enough this is a great system.

Better than Hayward for sure
I tried two different Hayward pool cleaners. Both were a big failure. This Polaris 280 works great. Once you get it adjusted to your pool and get the pressures set it runs around just like it is supposed to (what a concept) Setup was very easy getting it running in the pool is easy and unloading the leaf bag is easy. I'll report back after I see if it lasts for a few seasons. It is simple in design so I don't expect problems.

Performs as advertised!I bought this because I was tired of my Polaris 280 having to run for 4 hours or more to clean up the mess after a storm. We have a large Chinese Elm in our yard and didn't want to lose it when we built the pool.
The Swimline Leaf Bagger allows me to pick up a mess of leaves in less than 30 minutes. I easily hooked the hose from my Polaris to the Bagger inlet by disconnecting it just before the backup valve then hooking it to the Bagger. The Bagger connects to a standard telescopic pool utility pole.
It makes picking up a mess of leaves on the bottom easier than skimming the surface and uses the same pole. Highly recommended if you have a leaf problem with your pool.

Great productThis is a great vacuum head. I had previously used a brush only head and found that it put more into suspension than it removed. This head is extremely well designed and has just the right amount of flexibility. It removes the vast majority of bottom dirt and precipitate rather than just kicking back up into the water. We have lots of tree pollen and so this was very important. It works great.

this is not a toyWorks ok.A little pricey for what you get but it does the job. Use a fresh cartridge to get maximum flow and be sure to let all the air out of the hose before plugging in. The filter (bottom valve to remove airpockets from hose top to remove air in the filter chamber). The part that fits into the strainer gets stopped up with Six leaves and the little vacuum bag needs to be emptied. I have to move more SLOWY than I would like to get it all. It is worth the time to collect all the leaves before starting. If you can see the stuff on the bottom there is more of it then there should be! I had to change filters after the first go it was worse then I imagened. the flow through the old dirty filter was almost stopped.
Dont leave the hose in the pool it will take you under! Definitely a hazard for little ones.

Great Product!We love diver Dave! The cleaner was easy to assemble use and it does a great job on our above ground swimming pool. The kids like watching him swim around the bottom of the pool. They feel someone is watching them all the time. The cleaner picks up leaves as well as any dirt. It works really great even with pine tree needles.

Great Product!!I don't know what the deal is with the first reviewer. This product is great. I purchased the "max" PoolBuster two years ago. My only problem is that last year the battery would not take a charge. WaterTech (the manufacturer) replaced the whole unit... and had the replacement to me within days of sending them the old unit.
Bottom line is that the PoolBuster is a real work saver... you can vacuum a pool like mine (16 x 32 inground) in about 20 minutes without getting out the vacuum hose and having to backwash after vacuuming. Only thing you should buy is the extra fine collection bag for vacumming find debris.

Pool vacuum headThis item is worth its weight in gold. It is very inexpensive but does an excellent job vacuuming the desert sand and etc. off a pool bottom. One can't set it and leave it like an expensive robot vacuum. It needs to be pushed around like a rug vacuum but it is quick and effective. Fits right on the end of the pool pole and the hose plugs into the pool vacuum filter thing. Easy. Easy. Also gave one as a gift.

The AquaQuik hand pumped pool vacuum works well.My AquaQuik pool vacuum works very well on my little 16 foot "set and go" pool. I wouldn't want to use it on a large pool ( or very deep one) though.
The brush attachment works well on accumulated sand and dirt and the other nozzle works well for pulling out small leaves plant matter and dead insects from the bottom.
Using this little gadget is way more convenient to use than the hose vacuum

constantly needs repairs
I have had my Hayward pool vac for about 3 years now. This pool cleaner requires constant maintenance. There are so many moving parts and they all wear out and are quite expensive to replace. At this point the pool cleaner just sits in one spot in my pool. I have tried adjusting the settings rearranging the hose replacing the feet and adjusting the pool suction. Its time to replace it and I wish I would have done it a long time ago because I have already spent more than what it would cost to replace with repairs.
