Excellent Pool Cleaner

Don't be fooled by a bad review. I've had this system for 13 years and am just now ordering a replacement. This is an excellent pool cleaner. The only part of my pool it doesn't clean are the steps. I NEVER have to sweep my pool with a brush just the steps because the Kreepy reaches everything else. If you have a clean filter the suction is very powerful and it sucks up leaves debris even microscopic stuff you can't see because it also vacuums and filters the water. The only time it has no suction is when the pool filters are dirty. Over the years I have had to replace the parts and hoses piecemeal but now the whole thing is tired and I'm ordering a new one. 13 years of NOT cleaning my pool by hand is proof enough this is a great system.More detail ...

The AquaQuik hand pumped pool vacuum works well.

My AquaQuik pool vacuum works very well on my little 16 foot "set and go" pool. I wouldn't want to use it on a large pool ( or very deep one) though.



The brush attachment works well on accumulated sand and dirt and the other nozzle works well for pulling out small leaves plant matter and dead insects from the bottom.



Using this little gadget is way more convenient to use than the hose vacuum

constantly needs repairs

I have had my Hayward pool vac for about 3 years now. This pool cleaner requires constant maintenance. There are so many moving parts and they all wear out and are quite expensive to replace. At this point the pool cleaner just sits in one spot in my pool. I have tried adjusting the settings rearranging the hose replacing the feet and adjusting the pool suction. Its time to replace it and I wish I would have done it a long time ago because I have already spent more than what it would cost to replace with repairs.More detail ...

NOT a toy (dangerous!) but a great auto pool cleaner

I have a fiberglass pool so cleaners designed for vinyl bottoms really work better for me than those for "cement ponds." And the price was right.



However this item is in the "Toys" category and that is TERRIBLE. This pool cleaner works off of the vacuum created by your pool pump/filter. The cleaner is made more efficient by the use of two venturi intakes (the smallest one is removable). With only about a half-square-inch intake the suction on the bottom of this cleaner is ferocious. And instead of Wanda the Whale they should have dubbed it Sarah the Shark.



DO NOT let children into the pool when this device is operating - or simple-minded adults for that matter. Get a toe stuck in the intake when Wanda runs over your foot and you might find yourself pulling it out of the filter before heading to the ER to see if they can re-attach it. And God help the curious adolescent boy who has the pool to himself....



Hayward is quite clear about the dangers of this product and the narrow operating environment but making the thing cute and cuddly and allowing it to be categorized as a toy seems to be a massive product liability exposure.



Warnings aside this is a great auto pool cleaner at a really great price. You may need to cut out the venturi intake to match up better with your pump pressure and to allow it to clean your pool in a more systematic way but you'll be impressed with what the little thing can accomplish in a half-day or so.

Performs as advertised!

I bought this because I was tired of my Polaris 280 having to run for 4 hours or more to clean up the mess after a storm. We have a large Chinese Elm in our yard and didn't want to lose it when we built the pool.



The Swimline Leaf Bagger allows me to pick up a mess of leaves in less than 30 minutes. I easily hooked the hose from my Polaris to the Bagger inlet by disconnecting it just before the backup valve then hooking it to the Bagger. The Bagger connects to a standard telescopic pool utility pole.



It makes picking up a mess of leaves on the bottom easier than skimming the surface and uses the same pole. Highly recommended if you have a leaf problem with your pool.More detail ...

Excellent cleaner

I have a small pool and did not want to install a seperate pump for the cleaner.

This vacuum is all it is advertised to be and more. The hook up is easy. 10 minutes out of the box should be enough.

Better than Hayward for sure

I tried two different Hayward pool cleaners. Both were a big failure. This Polaris 280 works great. Once you get it adjusted to your pool and get the pressures set it runs around just like it is supposed to (what a concept) Setup was very easy getting it running in the pool is easy and unloading the leaf bag is easy. Absolute Junk!

Be prepared to charge this unit for 24 hours and then don't expect it to have any real power. I have an 8' by 20' indoor pool. The micro-filter bag is a joke! I had sand on the bottom of my pool... most of it filtered right out through the unit. You could actually see it coming back out the side vents! The nose cap is very difficult to attach to the body and even more difficult to remove. The instructions state "Your cleaner is designed to accommodate any standard pole." Ha! Not a chance! The "standard" pole that came with my pool could not slide through the cuff on the unit. This unit is advertised as a "toy". That's about right. Between the lack of power and the small size of the cleaning head and filter bag... this unit is greatly overpriced and a complete waste of time and money.More detail ...

I REALLY LIKE IT!

This works much better than the rectangular sweeper we had before. It picks up leaves and sediment much better and works from any direction. Also the price is great too! I just saw the same product at the pool store and they were asking $44.00 for it.

This vacuum head hooks up with your vacuum hoseI use in in my 30x14 in ground pool and it works great and I have still not found a cheaper price. It rolls smoothly and vacuums great.More detail ...
